Five

Little One is now five years old (41.5" tall, 46 lbs).

Sunday

Today, we spent a "lazy" Sunday with Little One....we woke up a bit later than usual, went out for brunch, spent some time at the park, watched Toy Story 3 at home, and made time for Little One to get in some painting & drawing.

Little One update

The Little One is quite a sassafras these days. She is always trying to negotiate to get things her way and is always saying, "I do it myself!". Here are some other things she says....

situation: when you ask her to do something she doesn't want to do....
Little One: "I'm busy right now."

situation: when shopping at the supermarket....

Little One: ...picks up random item from the aisle, drops it into the shopping cart, and says, "I need this one!"

situation: whenever daddy starts to sing....

Little One: "No singing, daddy!"

situation: when she gets mad...

Little One: "I don't like you...you go on timeout!"

4 years old

Little One is now 4 years old. In this last year, she grew about 3" and tacked on 6 lbs and now hits the scales at 39" tall and 38 lbs. Here are a few recent pictures......

The Big Kid

Little One says that she is now a "big kid". She seemed to be outgrowing her toddler bed, so this weekend, we changed her toddler bed to a full-sized bed.

Jumping for joy!?

...Little One having fun at a birthday party last week. The next day she said, "my back hurts."

Signs

Some signs indicating that Little One is growing up....
1.) In the morning, she is now getting out of bed by herself .
2.) She can go up and down the stairs by herself.
3.) She has started to call us "mom & dad" instead of "mommy and daddy", and she sometimes refers to us as "you guys".
4.) She is starting to pay attention to the words in her books instead of just the pictures.

Preschool Update

Little One seems to be doing okay at preschool. She still complains in the mornings about having to go to school but, she usually enjoys the classes and activities once she gets there. She has been eating well at lunch time but has had some problems napping afterwards. She has picked up some new terms at school such as "so awesome", "so cool", and "volcano goes boom". Miscellaneous Musings

It feels like Little One is growing up. She is set to start preschool next week, and hopefully, she is ready to take on this new challenge. ....All ready for school?

She is now completely "pull-up free" as we have stopped using them at bed time. After we had the tub reglazed, we have been giving her baths in the big tub instead of the small plastic one.

Little One seems to have developed a fondness for baseball. She likes to play catch and tosses the ball fairly well. However, in this picture she has the mitt on the wrong hand.
