Preschool Update

Little One seems to be doing okay at preschool. She still complains in the mornings about having to go to school but, she usually enjoys the classes and activities once she gets there. She has been eating well at lunch time but has had some problems napping afterwards. She has picked up some new terms at school such as "so awesome", "so cool", and "volcano goes boom". Miscellaneous Musings

It feels like Little One is growing up. She is set to start preschool next week, and hopefully, she is ready to take on this new challenge. ....All ready for school?

She is now completely "pull-up free" as we have stopped using them at bed time. After we had the tub reglazed, we have been giving her baths in the big tub instead of the small plastic one.

Little One seems to have developed a fondness for baseball. She likes to play catch and tosses the ball fairly well. However, in this picture she has the mitt on the wrong hand.

In the month of May...

Little One will make the transition from daycare to preschool later this summer. She seems excited about going to school, but for now, she is just relaxing and enjoying the nice spring time weather:

April Update

After her birthday, Little One went to the dentist for the first time. The dentist suggested that we try to get her to stop sucking her thumb. We tried this "ThumbGuard" on her which she doesn't like very much.However, she was all smiles after going to Disneyland for the first time. At home, she sometimes studies the Disneyland map and reflects on those "good times".

Little One gets all excited whenever we mention going to a "park". Sometimes, she will stop in the middle of what she is doing and head towards the front door to look for her shoes.

3 years old

Little One is now 3 years old. Here is a picture from her birthday..... 36" tall and 31.6 lbs at 3 years old.....
Little One continues to talk more and more and is now willing to answer us (somewhat), if we ask her questions such as “what did you do today at daycare?” However, it also means that she has started talking back to us. If I warn her about putting her on timeout for misbehaving, she comes back with “Daddy …..timeout….two minutes” in the same stern tone that I usually use on her.

Little One has also made progress with potty training and is now accident-free on most days. Sometimes, it feels like the kid is growing up right before our eyes......she should be driving in no time.

A Look Back at 2009

December update

Little One had a busy December. She enjoyed a number of visits from friends and family and also had a chance to attend a birthday party (she now likes to sing the "Happy Birthday" song). She is also now a big fan of dinosaurs after having seen some fossils and a large dinosaur skeleton at the Natural History Museum. Here are a few pictures from December.....

November update

Little One has been talking up a storm recently. She is not shy about sharing her opinions as to what clothes she should wear, what foods she should eat, and how things in our household should run, in general. You might be able to see some of her "attitude" in these pictures below....

We try to limit her time in front of the tv, but a few PBS cartoons have recently caught her eye (Curious George & Sid The Science Kid). She enjoyed watching these shows at home over the Thanksgiving holidays. Little One continues to learn more of her ABC's and is showing more interest in drawing and painting.

Halloween

Little One was a bumble bee for Halloween this year. She wore her costume to a Gymboree Halloween party and to go trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

A quick update...

(guest post by daddy) Little One has been indicating to us that she wants to do things on her own.  She will say "myself" to go up the stairs, when brushing her teeth, and when trying to get up onto her booster seat to eat meals.  This month, we made some strides with potty training, but then she got sick and we had to put the training on hold.  We did convert her crib into a toddler bed, and she seems to like the results.  She has been having fun climbing in and out of her bed all by herself.  Here are some miscellaneous photos from this month.....
